For high school seniors, prom night symbolizes the conclusion of one chapter of their lives and is usually celebrated with over-the-top gowns, a lively dance floor, and some creative (and sometimes cringey)
“promposals.” For the 20th anniversary of the fashion brand, alice + olivia, Stacey Bendet, CEO & creative director threw a prom night that was epic in every way imaginable to mark the brand’s major milestone.
Bendet invited quests to step back in time to relive their prom night dreams with an extravagant fête on Wednesday night at N.Y.C.’s The Close East Lawn. The evening not only marked the brand’s birthday, but it was also where the new capsule evening dress collaboration with streetwear superstar KidSuper debuted.
Partygoers including Elle Emhoff and AnnaLynne McCord wore pieces from the new collection at the bash. While other A-listers like Busy Philipps, Nicky Hilton, Ariana DeBose, Ellen Von Unwerth, Ruby Aldridge, Chanel Iman, Lea Michele, Olivia Ponton, Kit Keenan, Roopal Patel, Gigi Burris, Jill Kargman, Roxy Sorkin, and Emira D’Spain, all dressed in the most prom-tastic alice + olivia looks to party the night away.
The intimate backyard setting was decorated with nostalgic prom-themed flyers, hand-painted signs, and of course, no prom is complete without an enormous amount of balloons. Guest were treated to live music from Bedroom Pop queen Gracie Abrams and DJ KISS, followed by an exceptional dance performance choreographed by Ebony Williams and Deijah Robinson.
To commemorate the brand’s 20th-anniversary milestone, Bendet had her “prom queen moment” when she received a Mayoral Proclamation by the city of New York (from the Mayor of New York himself, Eric Adams) making June 15 “alice + olivia day.”
On Instagram, the designer called the night “legendary” and thanked her team and friends for celebrating. “Proud moment and a beautiful celebration of our very special brand 🥰❤️,” the caption read.
After Bendet was deemed prom queen with the proclamation, she partied the rest of the night with guests, enjoying bites from Beatnic and punch spiked with Absolut Vodka and Olmeca Altos Tequila.
