Model Leni Klum had the ultimate archive to shop through to find her perfect prom dress — her supermodel mom Heidi Klum’s closet!
The 18-year-old shared a photo of her special look on Instagram, striking a pose in the silky strapless black dress, which she paired with a simple silver Adina’s Jewels necklace and a crystal-covered bag, which evoked the ’90s glam of her dress.
Leni captioned the photo, “prom night in mama’s dress🖤,” to which Heidi replied with a heart-eye emoji.
It appears that Heidi first wore a similar slinky black number to the filming of the HBO charity special, “Comic Relief VIII,” in 1998. At the time, the model styled her LBD with a lariat necklace, black open-toe heels and the ultimate ’90s hair trend, sleek, straight strands.
Even though her mini-me gave it her own spin with accessories, they both knew how to model the piece in their photo shoot sessions.
Over the last few years, Leni has been making a name for herself in the modeling world. She’s been featured on covers for Glamour Germany and walked the runway Dolce & Gabbana, to name a few. Most recently, she landed a huge gig in Michael Kors’ new activewear campaign, Ellesse.
She’s also been making appearances alongside her famous mom. The duo attended the LusisaViaRoma for Unicef event in Capri Italy in 2021, and filmed together for Germany’s Next Top Model, in a post shared by Klum this week.
We not only love the tight bond the mother-daughter duo have, but the fact that Leni is able to raid Heidi’s closet for special events like prom. There’s truly nothing more chic (or eco-conscious!) than giving clothes another go-around. It’s a win on style and sustainability from us!
