The weekly Saturday Night Live afterparty has always been used by celebrities as a platform to soft-launch new relationships. (Just look at Pete Davidson and Madelyn Cline, Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet or Kendall Jenner and Bad Bunny for proof.) But during the early hours of Sunday morning in Manhattan, it seemed there was something a little more heartfelt in the air.
Indeed, a source in attendance has revealed to Page Six that Ariana Grande and her Tony Award nominee boyfriend, Ethan Slater, appeared to still be going strong as they celebrated her recent hosting duties. While toasting the multi-hyphenate singer at Saks On Fifth Avenue’s upscale L’Avenue restaurant, the couple and Wicked co-stars were “side by side throughout the evening”.
The insider noted the duo also looked “happy and in love”. They were joined by Grande’s former Victorious cast member and long-term friend Elizabeth Gillies, SNL comedian and Wicked actor Bowen Yang and her episode’s musical performer, Fleetwood Mac alumni Stevie Nicks.

Grande and Slater set the internet alight when the couple sparked dating rumours last year. The couple, who met while filming the upcoming movie musical, had officially started their romance in July 2023. But it wasn’t until the former Nickelodeon child star was spotted at Wimbledon without her wedding ring that netizens began taking interest.
Both Slater and Grande were recently single after ending their respective marriages, with a source revealing to People in December that things are “serious” between them. For those who have seen the Broadway stage show, you’ll know that the couple will be reunited on-screen during the upcoming film adaptation.

Grande and Slater will soon embark on a global press tour to promote the movie, with the couple making their first stop in the Emerald City of Sydney. The cast, including Cynthia Erivo, Jonathan Bailey and Jeff Goldblum will hit the green and pink carpet at the State Theatre on November 3.
The fantastical retelling of the Witches of Oz will launch into theatres nationwide later that month on November 21. In the meantime, you can watch the trailer below and listen to the original cast soundtrack on all streaming platforms.
