Alright, we’ve reached the end of August… somehow. Is anyone else still freaked out that we’re closer to 2022 than we are 2021? While August may have been quiet on the celebrity news front, we’re still testing out and trying new things all the time. September’s just around the corner — literally, Wednesday is September 1, which… why? — and everyone’s wondering what they’ll be wearing, if another lockdown is imminent, and what new and fun products are on the market. If you’re looking to try something new for the holiday weekend, we’ve gathered the best new beauty launches from the month of August, right on schedule.

We’ve talked about this one before — just trust me. You’ll love it.

For those who aren’t sleeping on silk… why? Silk has so many benefits for your skin and hair, plus with how obnoxiously hot it’s been, it also can cool you off. I’m notorious for having too many pillows on my bed, but all of them have silk pillowcases from Blissy, making for a heaven-like experience. This pink-and-white colorway is the same aesthetic as my room, so you know I’ve ordered them already. A silk pillowcase is one of my best investments — I don’t think I’ll ever sleep on cotton again.

The people over at KVD are magicians. It wasn’t enough to hit us with the Good Apple foundation earlier this year, nooooo, they had to come out of left field with these gel contours — that also come in blushes— which feel like your skin but work incredibly well. You don’t need to be a professional makeup artist to use these — they’re immensely beginner-friendly.

Whenever I come home, I beg my mom to do my hair because I have a ton of it but also lack any form of upper arm strength. This time around, she asked me what I put in my hair because the blow dry was smooth and sleek without using any formal heat protectant. Thank you, Magic Serum — you made my textured hair frizz-free for once, and that is nearly impossible in humid August.

Huda Beauty’s palettes have always been a standout, but I am truly obsessed with the earthy, jungle palette of this nine-pan shadow kit. The way that gold shade is going to occupy my eyelids this fall, y’all….

I’ve talked a lot about scent memory at GRAZIA. With notes of passionfruit nectar, tiger orchid, and pink patchouli, this floral yet gourmand scent created in collaboration with Brazilian megastar Anitta, makes me excited for the memories I’ll make with this fresh fragrance.

I know, a CBD product in 2021 feels passé, but this moisturizer from Kristen Bell and Lord Jones truly is a hit. It is light, fluffy, ultra-moisturizing and the CBD is just an added bonus — I would buy this product without CBD, if it was an option.

Just like I would take body oil advice from Miranda Kerr, I would take lipstick advice from Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Real talk: buy these lipsticks now, before they blow up on TikTok. They’re that good.

I was skeptical about this nail polish remover — acetone-free? Jojoba and tea tree oil? This could never work. Welp, I was extremely wrong about that one, and I must say I will never miss the smell of acetone. This nail polish remover is both effective and an enjoyable experience — a possible game changer.

Listen, I am a bonafide mascara snob — I like my drugstore mascara like essence’s Lash Princess — but this Kaja one sucked me right in. Not only do you get three mascaras in one in a cool, magnetized set, but the clear lash primer makes for a great brow gel. Travel-friendly and a great product? This is a yaaaas.
