For this royal wedding, His Majesty King Hussein had commissioned Dior to create the perfect wedding dress for Queen Noor for their wedding ceremony in 1978. However, it was said that she did not like the dress that they designed and wanted something a little more simple and in line with Islamic traditions. She showed the designers her favourite dress in her closet which was a bohemian style Yves Saint Laurent dress and requested if they would use this as a guideline to create her perfect wedding dress in which they did.

Human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin, wore a stunning off-the-shoulder ivory Oscar de la Renta lace gown as she married George Clooney in Venice in 2014. It would be Oscar de la Renta’s final creation before his death later on that year.
