When the vitriol slung at celebrities gets too loud, they put their criticisms on a t-shirt. This mode was first explored by Hailey Bieber, who reclaimed the narrative around her “nepo baby” status by walking around Los Angeles in a cropped baby tee emblazoned with the disparaging phrase.
Now, Victoria Beckham is following suit and having the last laugh at naysayers who ridiculed her claims to be working class in the new Beckham docuseries.
For the uninitiated, David Beckham’s recent four-part Netflix series showcased a hilariously entertaining moment between the football player and his former pop star wife. In a now-viral moment, Victoria remarked on her and David’s shared qualities, including the fact that their families came from “working class” backgrounds.
Without missing a beat, the former English captain poked his head through the door to press his wife to “be honest” about her family’s socioeconomic status. (Let’s not forget that her nickname in the Spice Girls was ‘Posh Spice’ for a reason.) “What car did your Dad drive you to school in?” David cheekily questioned, hinting at her bourgeois upbringing.

Though, just because the 49-year-old isn’t working class, it doesn’t mean she’s not working hard for the money. Putting her skills as a fashion designer to good use, the mother-of-four has released a white shirt adorned with her infamous saying: “’My Dad Had a Rolls-Royce”.
As per the description for Beckham’s eponymous label, the slogan shirt “embodies the brand’s playful side” and is “designed with dropped shoulder seams and a classic crew neckline, it has a relaxed fit and refined feel.” Beckham priced the shirt at a modest £130, or Dhs600 (approx).
Clearly, the marketing ploy has paid off, with the graphic tee currently sold out on her website. A perfect stocking filler for anyone attending an elite boarding school!
Promoting the piece on TikTok, the designer said: “Now who doesn’t love a slogan t-shirt? My question for you all is, what did your Dad drive you to school in? My Dad drove me in a Rolls-Royce. I can’t fight it anymore!” Victoria Beckham, you will never beat the posh allegations.
