THE INGREDIENTS USED FOR THE HOME CLEANSERS CAN BE USED AS NATURAL BEAUTY PRODUCTS

Ever thought about using the same essential oils found in organic beauty products for your kitchen counters? UAE-based company The Botanist clearly has and you can now literally moisturise your lips with your wood-waxer because the gorgeous mahogany furniture in your living room deserves the same attention as your face. Made up of essential oils, the artisanal brand was born when founder, Ruby Giroux realised the amount of chemicals she was using in her day-to-day life.

“It was like, okay, so I pay for organic food, but I clean my kitchen with chemicals, it doesn’t make any sense. And I couldn’t find what I wanted here so I started making my own soap,” Ruby tells Grazia. “The idea was to use traditional methods and natural material to make these products.” After a year of experimenting with her own soap-making methods, and asking friends for old family recipes, Ruby ended up giving birth to an all-natural home cleanser brand that caters to like minded people.

“We work a lot on the smell in order to have something that’s really pleasing. At the end of the day, we can honestly say is that when you’re done with the cleaning, your house basically smells like a spa,” explains Ruby. “The wood wax is so natural, it has the same ingredients as natural lip balm. So when you’re done cleaning the table, you can put some on your lips.”
