A source told The Sun, “it was just a fling and they’ve put an end to it now.” The insider added, “they realized giving it another chance was a mistake as things ended the first time around for a reason.”
While it is still unclear why the pair decided to end things, the two came to a joint understanding that it was best for them to part ways. Mendes and Cabello hope to move on and realise that giving things another try was a mistake. This news comes as a surprise to many fans who were hopeful that their reunion would lead to a fresh and healthy start for their relationship.

It is no secret how touchy Mendes and Cabello were with each other, swaying back and forth at the VIP tent while Swift performed “Lover.” They shared many other PDA moments throughout the show.
