One of the biggest names in music, Dua Lipa has a younger sister named Rina Lipa who has been making headlines lately for her modelling and acting career. Dua Lipa, the 2023 Met Gala co-chair began her music career by uploading covers and original songs to her YouTube channel. After signing with Warner Music Group in 2015, she was catapulted into mainstream when her single New Rules became a massive hit in 2018. Born on May 14th 2001, Rina is the middle child of Anesa and Dukagjin Lipa’s three kids. Dua, 28, Rina and their younger brother Gijn, 13, were born and brought up in North-West London. Music runs in the family as their father Dukagjin was the former lead vocalist in a Kosovar rock band Oda. Their mother Anesa works in tourism. The family is of Kosovo-Albanian origin, and Rina has briefly spent six years with her family in Kosovo’s capital Pristina during her childhood. She is fluent in Albanian, and credits her time in Kosova for a lot of her growth as an individual and has expressed that much of her fond childhood memories are from her time spent in her parent’s native land.
From a young age, Rina was a passionate budding artist. After starring in commercials, she realised her love for performing arts. She began with training in ballet and soon discovered her love for acting. She then started taking drama classes for six years to hone her craft. The 22 year old has also competed in The Rock Challenge dance competition. In 2014, she was the recipient of the Jack Petchey Award which recognises outstanding young people aged 11-25 across London and Essex.

Like her sister, she is also a talented singer and has trained in musical theatre, but it seems it’s not where her main passion lies.
Rina began her modelling career at Milan Fashion Week where she walked for Giuliano Calza Design Studio’s Fall 2021 runway. Since then, she has been part of various advertisement campaigns for fashion brands, notably Versace, Miu Miu and more.
Rina has previously acted in a few short films and has landed roles in two yet to release major productions. She plays a character named Cressida in the upcoming film Expectations directed by Chris Robert which is currently in post-production. The budding actress has also landed a part in an upcoming horror film directed by Italian filmmaker Gianluigi Carella.
A lot of publications have called her the Gen Z It Girl due to her impeccable fashion and style. She has already amassed 900K followers on her Instagram and is most definitely a rising star to watch.
