A little over two months ago, the Brunei royal family hosted the most spectacular 10-day wedding to mark the union of Prince Abdul Mateen and his wife Princess Anisha Rosnah.

Now, to mark the Holy Month of Ramadan, the newlyweds have travelled to Saudi Arabia together to perform the Umrah pilgrimage.

Travelling to Mecca, where the Umrah pilgrimage takes place, the pair shared a series of photographs together from the Hejazi area, which is considered the holiest city for Muslims.

Their visit included a trip to both Mecca and Madinah during Ramadan. The couple snapped a selfie in Mecca as the prince was wearing the two white cloths required to complete the Umrah pilgrimage, while Princess Anisha was seen in a white cloth hijab and abaya.

Prince Mateen also included a picture of him and his colleagues sitting for their iftar

The couple celebrated their wedding earlier this year with a grand 10-day celebration,. From January 7 to January 16 2024, the couple celebrated their union with the beautiful traditions of the Sultanate of Brunei. Each celebration was more beautiful and grandiose than the next. Some of those ten celebrations include the pre-wedding Khatam Qu’ran, following with their engagement.

The celebrations also included the Malam Berbedak (Blessing Ceremony), as well as the Akad Nikah. The couple also hosted an elaborate Majlis Istiadat Berbedak ceremony which invited many friends and family of the bride and groom to bless them.

On their wedding day the prince wore his impressively decorated military uniform to the occasion, while the new princess wore a creamy velvet gown, with dainty crystal embellished and a floor length veil, on the aisle.

Attended by royals from Saudi, Bahrain, Jordan and beyond, the official guest list spanned over 5,000 people.
