After what felt like a gloomy year for fashion, designers returned to the runways of Paris by embracing their playful side. Whether by welcoming the spirit of spring with fresh cutouts, channelling monochrome dressing, or getting creative with edgy silhouettes and refreshing hues – the runways were dominated by the chicest trends we’ve seen all year. Classic preppy styles also got an update this season with plenty of neutral-toned blazers, skirts and reimagined ribbed garments, courtesy of Louis Vuitton, Lacoste and many more luxury fashion houses.
We’ve seen designers opting for virtual runways and others presenting intimate shows, but the one thing we can agree on is that the spring/summer 2022 collections provided countless covetable looks that reflected the real world’s changing perspectives, which we are beyond here for. We saw many designers prioritizing comfort with loose and breathable garments, from Georges Hobeika to Stella McCartney, and designers such as Miu Miu proving that wearing chic ensembles is the ultimate solution to any wardrobe dilemma. There was also an underlying sense of optimism in this season’s collections – from the selection of bold colours to the playful silhouettes – providing us with a much-needed spark of excitement and hope.
Ahead, we’re highlighting the top trends from Paris Fashion Week spring/summer 2022.
