Netflix is here to keep your content calendar full. From rom-com lovers to documentary fiends, they have an assortment of new releases this month as well as new seasons of old titles for you to handpick your favourite. So, here’s a list of fifteen Netflix shows for you to look forward to this month. 

MY BEST FRIEND ANNE FRANK

A beautiful portrayal of friendship, My Best Friend Anne Frank is a story of Anne Frank and Hannah Goslar’s companionship recovered from Goslar’s memoirs. It is a horrifying yet touching story that unearths the trauma experienced by two friends in Nazi-occupied Amsterdam.

TINDER SWINDLER

Netflix’s true-crime documentary, Tinder Swindler, highlights the life of Shimon Hayot aka, Simon Leviev. The convicted con-man used the dating-app Tinder to take credit and loans under their names by wooing them, ultimately leaving them to bear his fraud. Pretty recently, for his ‘swindling’ records, the scammer has also been banned from dating applications.

MURDERVILLE

Murderville is a crime comedy series where police detective, Terry Seattle, gets help from a new star assistant in every case. The twist in the binge-worthy series is the lack of presence of a script that requires the stars to make improvisations.

SWEET MAGNOLIAS (Season 2)

Taking us along the sub-urban drama, Sweet Magnolias is back with its second season. This season will again dive us into the intricacies of how the three life-long friends, Maddie, Helen, and Dana Sue, support each other through the ups and downs of life.

If one con-oriented drama was not enough for you, we have another. Inventing Anna is based on the life of Anna Sorokin aka, Anna Delvey, the ‘fake German heiress,’ who got convicted for committing a number of frauds that included posh Manhattan hotels and banks.

LOVE IS BLIND (Season 2)

Love Is Blind is finally back with a second season. The long-awaited, addicting reality show is all about finding ‘love.’ If you enjoy watching a group of singles in ‘pods’ who date without having seen each other until they say, ‘I do’, then this show is a must-watch for you. 

TALL GIRL 2

Don’t you think when everything is going just perfect, something wrong is bound to happen? If you relate then gear up to watch the second instalment of the movie, Tall Girl, and see how Jodi’s newfound popularity creeps in and causes miscommunications in her new relationship.

JEEN-YUHS: A KANYE TRILOGY: February 16

If you haven’t had enough of Kanye’s cryptic Instagram posts, Netflix has more Kanye content to offer you. Jeen-Yuhs is a Netflix documentary film showcasing behind-the-scenes footage of Ye’s life before he became famous. As the name clearly mentions, the film is a trilogy and will denote his life in three parts. 

SECRETS OF SUMMER: February 16

Mexican athlete Steffi takes part in Ciole Grande, a wakeboarding competition to unfold the memories of her past. It’s a story that is here to take you for a ride and dives into the depths of friendship, love and loads of adventure. 

FORGIVE US OUR TRESPASSES: February 17

 

A heartbreaking film set in Nazi-dominated Germany, Forgive Us Our Trespasses is a disturbing tale about a town that kills people with disabilities. The story takes us through the journey of how a young boy with a limb difference, played by Knox Gibson, tries to escape and run for his life.

SPACE FORCE (Season 2): February 18

Steve Carell and his team are back with a new season, after leaving us on edge of our seats in the first one. The question is, will the team defy their interpersonal differences and stick together to prove themselves capable of setting an additional branch of the armed forces? Well, we have to wait and watch. 

DOWNFALL: THE CASE AGAINST BOEING: February 18

‘Did Boeing put an unsafe plane in the air?’ Downfall: The Case Against Boeing by Academy Award-nominated director, Rory Kennedy, is an account of two devastating plane crashes that took place five months apart. The two-hour film elucidates the cruel reality, greed and negligence of the corporate business to make profits on behalf of the lives of people.

Tyler Perry makes a comeback to our screens. Streaming on the 25th of this month, the 12th instalment of the film centres around Perry’s aka Madea’s great-grandson’s graduation. Packed with a lot of fun, family drama, and chaos, Madea invites us all to be a part of her family celebration.

History lovers, we have something for you and trust us, you won’t be disappointed. Making a return to our screens, only 100 years ahead of the original chronicle, Vikings is back with a sequel. The new series beams attention on Leif Erikson as well as other characters and transports us to the era where the heroes fight with the English for their fate.

There is no way we would have concluded the list without a K-drama series. Also, who doesn’t love to be a spectator of a court scene? Juvenile Justice revolves around Shim Eun Seok, a victim of juvenile crime herself, who is appointed as a judge to take care of delinquent crimes. Sounds enthralling, doesn’t it?
