Among many shows that have been either cancelled or have ended this year Never Have I Ever is another show that won’t be coming back for another season. Now that Season 4 is out, it has just dawned on us that this would be the last time we see this quirky little TV show. We’ve come to see some serious character development, friendship drama and a whirlwind of romances from Devi. Scroll down to learn more about the final season of the show.

Unlike most shows that have had abrupt endings, co-creators Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher had informed the cast of the news prior to the premiere of season 3 in an effort to give the show and its viewers a fitting conclusion. Through the years we have seen Devi grieve the loss of her father, get entangled in a love triangle with Ben and Paxton, stir up some drama and now finally graduate high school and get into her dream college, Princeton.

This show partly takes inspiration from Kaling’s own life and sheds light on a number of issues faced by South Asians, such as the pressures of getting into an Ivy League school, overprotective parents, dealing with judgmental relatives, as well as the impending need to reject the Indian aspect of oneself. The show features a coming-of-age South Asian girl as a lead, who strives to navigate through life despite all the hardships. the show along with Kaling has recently come under scrutiny as some scenes have had typical stereotyping.

This season includes a whole new line of chaos, misunderstandings, college rejections, injuring a teacher and more. As the kids graduate from Sherman Oaks to have a new start to an exciting, (and possibly drama?) filled chapter, we bid adieu to a classic.
