While Moschino is wildly different every collection, an undercurrent of uninhibited fun is always present.
The same could be said about the complimentary beauty look; whether a bold lip or dramatic eye or gravity-defying lash (sometimes, all three), Jeremy Scott always puts forward a look.
For the SS23 collection, makeup legend Kabuki constructed a classic take on glamour, but with a Moschino twist: immaculate skin, smoky eyes and a lip lacquered in vinyl red so glossy, it almost looked digital.
Whilst highly impractical for real life (a shiny red lip is not conducive with eating, drinking, or so much as a slight breeze), the wow factor was hard to ignore. And the crisp edges were a testament to Kabuki’s steady hand, and years of experience backstage. The shade was also a textbook candy apple red: not blue or pink but neutral and richly pigmented.

Hair was more subdued: a sleek bun kept neat with a generous slick of gel. Some models wore balloon animals on their heads (or something to that effect), whilst others had giant earrings on, so a pulled-back finish was perfection.
If classic beauty is your thing but you want to take it up a notch come party season, Kabuki’s Moschino girl is the ultimate reference.
