In the lead up to the release of BabylonMargot Robbie is letting us in on a couple of on-set secrets. In an interview with E! News this week the actress admitted that a kiss she shares with Brad Pitt within the film wasn’t in the script. Instead, she just improvised.

“That wasn’t in the script,” the 32-year-old told the outlet. “But I thought, ‘When else am I gonna get the chance to kiss Brad Pitt? I’m just gonna go for it.’”

Robbie went onto admit that she persuaded director Damien Chazelle to include the interaction in the final cut, by arguing that their character’s would kiss in that moment. She added that it was a pleasant experience (which we can totally imagine) and she was more satisfied when she proved the filmmaker wrong.

Margot Robbie plays Nellie LaRoy in Babylon from Paramount Pictures.

“I said, ‘Damien, I think Nellie would just go up and kiss Jack,’” the actress recalled. “And Damien was like, ‘Well, she could — wait, hold on. You just wanna kiss Brad Pitt.’ And I was like, ‘Oh, so sue me. This opportunity might never come up again.’ And he was like, ‘It does work for the character,’ and I was like, ‘I think so.’”

She continued, “He was like, ‘No, do it again. That really works. I was like, ‘Oh, great.’” Pitt and Robbie have starred alongside each other before in the award-winning film Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.

According to the official synopsis, Babylon is set in the 1920s in Los Angeles and follows the rise and fall of a group of characters during an era of outrageous excess. The cast also stars Diego Calva, Jovan Adepo, Li Jun Li, Tobey Maguire, Samara Weaving, Olivia Wilde and Jean Smart.
