Kylie Jenner and on-again off-again boyfriend Travis Scott are under intense scrutiny this week after the reality star used her private jet for a short 17-minute flight throughout California. At the weekend, Jenner shared a black-and-white photo partaking in PDA with her beau with two private jets in the background, writing, “you wanna take mine or yours?”.
Just a couple of days prior it was revealed by Twitter account @CelebJets that the flight from Camarillo to Van Nuys took just 17 minutes which would otherwise take a modest 45 minutes to drive. Fans were quick to slam the beauty mogul on Instagram with one user writing, “That carbon footprint be wild.” Another echoed this notion, “Global warming who ? 🌍”, while another follower added, “But it’s us who must use paper straws 😩.”
The online commentary was a little more brutal on Twitter. One person dubbed Jenner as a “full time climate criminal”. Another user commented,“ Can’t wait to see Kylie Jenner post environmental awareness pics on her stories as if she isn’t single-handedly doing more damage to the environment than most of us with her 3 min flights.” A third said, “These people jet around like they’re in an Uber.”
It’s well-known that flying releases a huge amount of CO2 emissions which is believed to contribute to global warming. The news arrives as Europe is experiencing record high temperatures.

Jenner has not responded to the controversy but it’s not the first time she’s come under fire for the very casual use of her pink-trimmed plane. In 2019 she garnered similar controversy for using her private jet to pick up her sister Kendall Jenner for dinner.
Scott just recently escaped his own threat cancellation after at least eight people were killed at his Astroworld Festival in 2021.
