Kanye West is in the building. Or should we say, in a 5-star enchanted sanctuary that is Saudi Arabia’s AlUla?

Yes, the controversial rapper was seen in the all-villa resort, Banyan Tree AlUla, which is home to fascinating history and jaw-dropping desert views. Hanging in time and space, the desert resort boasts a type of tranquillity like nowhere else. The stillness of the AlUla air, the grandness of the rocky structures and the sheer power of nature is what make it such a captivating destination. It’s no wonder creative pioneers like Mr. West are finding refuge in its luxurious, transcending space.

Known for his creative vision within the music and fashion worlds, it’s safe to say that Kanye is always in search of inspiration. And his newest choice of workplace has it in abundance. His upcoming project, a collaboration with R&B artist Ty Dolla Sign, is coming to fruition in the desert oasis. Setting up base in the AlUla sanctuary, the property doubling as the project’s backdrop and makeshift recording studio. So, when you catch a glimpse of an ancient Arabic oasis in his next music video, remember to thank The Kingdom for it.

From adventure to art, AlUla refuses to be confined to one source of energy. While Kanye West might be the most recent mustic star to be spotted in AlUla, he is definitely not the first. Legendary British band The Kooks took the stage at AlUla’s annual AZIMUTH festival this year, along with renowned artists like Jorja Smith, Chet Faker, Shkoon and more. If it isn’t already, AlUla should be on your radar for transforming unreal experiences.

This also isn’t the first sighting of the Yeezy founder in the Gulf region over the last few weeks. He was spotted roaming the Dubai Mall with TikTok star and 10-year-old daughter North West and was in attendance at the Francis Ngannou vs Tyson Fury Fight in Riyadh. He even took a quick picture with the founder of the Dubai-based sustainable clothing wear company, The Giving Movement. “All business. No cap.” Dominic Nowell-Barnes captioned the image of all-black-wearing designers.
