Kaia Gerber turned 21 in the most iconic fashion imaginable – channeling her supermodel mother Cindy Crawford‘s iconic 90s beauty look! The model donned a very familiar bouncy blow-dry and smoky eye, which was something of a signature for Crawford at the height of her modelling career in the 90s.
In a series of snaps shared by Gerber on her Instagram Story, the star can be seen rocking the bombshell look at her 21st birthday party. Crawford’s trademark bodacious waves and sultry makeup were given a modern edge, as Gerber chose neutral tones of mauve and mocha to accentuate her long lashes and pronounced pout.
The star marked the momentous occasion by partying the night away with pals Billie Eilish, Camila Morrone, Paris Jackson and Madison Beer. Of course, her famous mama was in attendance, and also joined her daughter for extended celebrations at Burning Man the next day.
In a sweet Instagram post, Crawford paid tribute to her lookalike daughter. “How are you 21 already?! I am so proud of the woman you have become and how you are in the world,” she wrote alongside photos of the pair. “Your curiosity, kindness and sense of adventure continue to inspire me. I’m so happy to be on this life journey with you! Continue to thrive this year and always.”
The star has previously named her mother as a major beauty influence on her. “I’d sit and watch her do her make-up, she’s a lot better at it than I am because she worked during the Nineties – now no one knows how to do their own make-up. I’ve definitely learned a lot from watching her,” the star revealed in a recent interview with ELLE.
“My mum always just said less is more, and I’ve tried to live by that,” she continued. “I don’t think this is true for everyone, but I feel the most beautiful when I feel like myself so I try not to overdo it because I don’t want to feel like I’m wearing a mask. Also, don’t touch your eyebrows! That’s a big one.”
