They might have sparked a wave of anti-wedding hype with their surprise Las Vegas nuptials, but it looks like Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck aren’t actually done with celebrating their love story. Prepare for a flood of luxe social media imagery because it’s been reported that the couple are throwing a major three-day wedding party this weekend.
The news comes via Page Six, and a month after the Vegas ceremony. “It’s going to be all about J.Lo,” a source told the media outlet – but before you think this is a jab at J.Lo for supposed diva behaviour, apparently Affleck just wants to let Jen shine. “Ben wants all of the focus to be on her for their big day,” the insider explains.
TMZ is reporting that the Affleck-Lopez party of the ages will be held at Ben Affleck’s Georgia estate, and will involve a rehearsal dinner on the Friday night, the main event on Saturday and then a chill-out barbecue and picnic on Sunday.
Lopez is rumoured to be wearing custom couture Ralph Lauren for the three-day wedding, after famously just picking a dress from her closet for the Vegas celebration.
Still, while this all seems very extravagant, the couple are apparently still favouring their close-knit circle over a big, star-studded affair. The three-day wedding will be an “intimate celebration for family and friends” – although given they are both megastars, naturally we will be seeing some famous faces in the crowd. Sources have told Page Six that Matt Damon, Jimmy Kimmel, Casey Affleck and Drea de Matteo are all invited.
As is to be expected, Lopez will most likely send out imagery and details after the event via her newsletter, On The JLO, the same vehicle she used to announce the Vegas wedding to Affleck. We honestly cannot wait.
