It’s officially secured its spot in the record books as having the highest outdoor infinity pool and, when you see the views from the Address Beach Resort’s 294-metre high newly opened swimming space on the 77th floor, you’ll either be utterly entranced by arguably the best city views around – or your vertigo will kick in.

It’s jaw-dropping; in a city filled attractions that elicit gushing superlatives, just this one draw should be enough to get you to this five-star property but there is so much more on offer that a staycation should definitely be on the cards to take full advantage of its perks.

Despite its sheer size, housed in glass-clad gleaming twin towers, the lobby conveys a sense of instant calm. Soothing shades of blue blend effortlessly with the outdoors where you can see the sky from floor to ceiling windows and the sea lapping just below. You’re swiftly checked-in by the team who stand by unobtrusive desks on the right of the entrance, and refreshed with cups of gahwa and dates.

The first thing that you notice after breaking open the sanitization seal on your hotel door is the birds eye view. The whole of JBR The Walk, Bluewaters Island and even Palm Jumeirah are in front of you; you’ll never need to turn on the TV as you’ll find yourself mesmerized by the constant activity outside. The room is a dream for techies as everything is controlled by an iPad placed by your bedside, while the bathroom features a standalone tub, power shower and sink complete with an amenity-filled vanity box. Tones are muted and warm and work well for a space that has to please a wide variety of tastes.

Waterbabies will be spoilt for choice. Aside from the Guinness record-holding adults-only ZETA Seventy Seven, there’s a family pool, a serene adults-only one and even a Splash Pad with playful fountains ideal for keeping little ones entertained next to the Qix Kids Club. It’s all perched on – or overlooking – a pristine section of the Jumeirah Beach Residences sandy beach, with the roar of jet-skis that you can rent out just in front. If you’re in the mood for pampering, you can have your treatment in one of the cabanas as the spa hasn’t yet flung open its doors for business.

Address Beach Resort – Spa

Our favourite spot for lunch had to be the Beach Grill; relaxed, with both al fresco tables and an indoor space, we chose excellently prepared surf and turf that seemed apt for the setting. Other eateries – that seem to be popular with visitors and hotel guests – include all-day dining spot The Restaurant that offered great value lunch bento boxes alongside a huge menu to suit all palates and was the venue offering a buffet breakfast too. Li Brasil combined the flavours of Lebanon and Brasil, and though we found the setting spectacular, we found it added up to quite a pricy bill given the concept is to order lots of little plates. Those worried about COVID precautions should fret not; as you enter there’s a gentle sanitizing mist through the doorway and temperature checks done. All the staff wear masks at all times and rooms are shut and sealed after a full deep cleaning is done on check-out.

Location, location, location – that’s one of the biggest draws of this hotel. From its waterside perch you have easy access to the Bluewaters Island pathway and the Marina and JBR. So you could spend a long time exploring everything that the hotel itself has to offer, and when you want a taste of city life, the best of Dubai is right outside your door. Plus the plush hotel’s design shows off its setting to the maximum meaning you’re constantly amazed by the sites in the city most of us call home.
