Fashion can’t seem to get enough of the digital frontier. On March 23rd, Alessandro Michele visited the 10KTF shop in New Tokyo to announce the latest initiative to come out of the Gucci Vault: 10KFT Gucci Grail. The creative director collaborated with the Metaverse shop owner, Wagmi-san, on this NFT collection, which is a digital clothing line consisting of two looks, in multiple colourways, inspired by the Gucci Aria and Love Parade collections–the perfect blend of fashion and fantasy.

Gucci’s new NFT collection is only available to people who already own PFP NFTs, “Picture for Proof” profile pictures, like those made by Bored Ape or CryptoPunks. So–for those with the digital asset to buy this NFT–once you’ve purchased it off Opensea and redeemed your crystal ball you can select one of the pieces from the collection. Afterwards, you receive your custom NFT profile image, making you one of the few people with an avatar wearing the 10KFT Gucci Grail collection in the Metaverse.

10KFT Gucci Grail comes off the heels of the Italian fashion brand’s previous endeavours into the Metaverse and is touted as one of the more organic Metaverse initiatives for the brand. This is because of who Michele is collaborating with for the collection, Wagmi-san, since this figure and his shop, 10KTF, are already known in the Metaverse as one of the more popular shopping destinations. Backed by the Gucci Love Parade and Aria collections, the 10KFT Gucci Grail feels timely, authentic, and–most importantly–like real fashion. We look forward to what the Italian fashion house will release from the Gucci Vault as it continues deeper into the Metaverse.
