At Chateau de Chantilly, Florence Pugh had a major princess moment as she arrived for Valentino’s Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2023/2023 show in a statement-making outfit that served as a message to her naysayers.

A vision in lilac, the actress stunned in a diaphanous sorbet-toned trapeze gown that featured an oversized black bow at the nape of her halter, and a plunging neckline that grazed her belly button. From behind, the backless dress cascaded down into a long, flowing train that made for some ethereal photo ops in the wind.

The Valentino muse and new face of the brand’s iconic Rockstud range, Pugh accessorised accordingly with a black leather Rockstud shoulder bag and sky-high satin platforms that she managed to traverse the cobblestone ground in with ease.

The look comes a year after she wore a similar sheer high-neck tulle gown at Valentino’s Haute Couture Fall/Winter 22/23 show in Rome last July. Her striking appearance sparked a Barbiecore craze in fashion but also led her to speak out about the body shaming comments she received over her nipples being visible.

“It isn’t the first time and certainly won’t be the last time a woman will hear what’s wrong with her body by a crowd of strangers, what’s worrying is just how vulgar some of you men can be,” she wrote in an Instagram post following the heinous comments.

“Thankfully, I’ve come to terms with the intricacies of my body that make me, me. I’m happy with all of the ‘flaws’ that I couldn’t bear to look at when I was 14,” she explained. “So many of you wanted to aggressively let me know how disappointed you were by my ‘tiny tits’, or how I should be embarrassed by being so ‘flat chested’. I’ve lived in my body for a long time. I’m fully aware of my breast size and am not scared of it.”

With her latest look, she bites the thumb at those who question her choices and proves that she is an unstoppable force to be reckoned with—and we couldn’t love it any more.
