The wellness industry is a growing space – and growing at a rapid rate. By 2028, according to the Global Wellness Institute, the global wellness industry is expected to reach a whopping $9 trillion, of which the Middle East makes up a reported $108 billion.
Right here in the UAE, the wellness space continues to be an expanding industry with the opening of many new hubs.
One such space, located in the heart of Abu Dhabi, where innovation meets tradition, is paving the way for health and wellness in the UAE capital, specifically targeted at the women of the region.
At the end of 2024, Erth unveiled its newest jewel—a Ladies’ Wellness Hub designed exclusively for women to nurture their minds, bodies, and spirits. This state-of-the-art sanctuary redefines wellness with a holistic approach, blending modern fitness practices with the deep cultural roots of Emirati heritage. Spanning 1,180 square meters, the hub is a testament to Erth’s mission to honour tradition while delivering world-class experiences.
Spearheading the initiative is Erth’s CEO, Shaikha Al Kaabi. With an ethos rooted in empowering women, Al Kaabi has ensured this hub embodies Abu Dhabi’s growing global prominence in wellness and sports, setting a benchmark for excellence. For Emirati women and the wider community, it stands as a beacon of self-care, cultural pride, and innovation, inviting every guest to embrace a journey of well-being that’s as inspiring as it is transformative.
Can you tell us about the vision behind the new Ladies’ Wellness Hub at Erth?
SAK: The vision for the Ladies’ Wellness Hub was to create a sanctuary where women can focus entirely on their well-being, both physically and mentally. It’s about more than just fitness; it’s a holistic approach to wellness that integrates movement, relaxation, and community. We wanted to design a space that feels empowering and luxurious, where women can nurture themselves in a private, serene environment. Our hub offers state-of-the-art facilities, but also a sense of escape—an oasis dedicated solely to women.

How does this new space set itself apart from other wellness offerings in Abu Dhabi?
SAK: What truly sets the Ladies’ Wellness Hub apart is its exclusive focus on creating a personalized experience for women. The design, services, and amenities have all been curated with attention to the unique needs and preferences of women. It’s not just a gym or spa—it’s a space where women can reconnect with themselves, whether through a quiet yoga session, guided meditation, or a deep tissue massage. We’ve also made sure to infuse the space with touches of Emirati culture, from the design elements to the traditional treatments, offering a blend of local heritage with modern wellness practices.
Abu Dhabi is establishing itself as a world-class destination for sporting events, and we wanted to create a space that resonates with that energy. The Ladies’ Wellness Hub reflects the same drive for excellence and global recognition that Abu Dhabi is known for. We’re proud to contribute to this by offering a wellness space that caters to both the physical and mental well-being of women, inspired by the same level of world-class innovation and respect for our cultural values.
“As an Emirati woman, I’m passionate about creating spaces that reflect our values while pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the hospitality and wellness industries.”
How does this project align with Erth’s overall mission and vision?
SAK: Erth has always been about honouring our heritage while providing modern, world-class experiences. The Ladies’ Wellness Hub aligns perfectly with this ethos. It’s a celebration of Emirati hospitality, where we care for guests in a way that’s personal and meaningful. The hub offers an elevated wellness journey, deeply rooted in our cultural values of privacy, community, and well-being. It’s part of our commitment to continually evolve and meet the needs of our guests in innovative and thoughtful ways.
What kind of services and experiences can women expect at the hub?
SAK: The 1180 sqm facility is open daily from 6 am to 10 pm and gives members the time and space to prioritize their self-care. Etizan Ladies Wellness Hub offers an array of classes, including sound healing, meditation yoga, Pilates, Mixed Martial Arts, dance, and cycling—all designed to foster mental clarity, inner balance, and physical strength. Teambeats™ group classes from Technogym provide an immersive, guided experience, combining digital heart-rate tracking with energetic music for a full-body workout.
The Facilities feature: dedicated cardio and weightlifting areas that sit alongside a Mixed Martial Arts Room, Cycling Studio, Pilates Studio, and a Movement Studio that provides designated spaces for dance, sound healing, and yoga. A treatment room, locker rooms, Personal Trainer Assessment Rooms, and a prayer room ensure a premium and discreet space, while Noa Café offers grab-and-go options such as protein shakes, juices, and healthy snacks to keep you on track before and after your workout. The club also boasts a Wellness Zone, which includes an infrared sauna, steam room, and cold pool for all-around relaxation.

How do you hope this hub will impact the lives of Emirati women and women in Abu Dhabi?
SAK: I hope that the Ladies’ Wellness Hub becomes a place where women feel empowered to prioritize their well-being, both physically and mentally. In our fast-paced world, it’s so important to have a dedicated space where women can focus on themselves without distractions. I want it to be a source of strength for Emirati women, and all women in Abu Dhabi—a place where they can recharge, find balance, and build community. It’s about creating a culture of wellness that’s accessible and supportive.
Ladies Wellness Hub is also a reflection of Abu Dhabi’s growing prominence on the global stage, especially in sports and wellness. I hope Emirati women feel proud to be part of a city that leads not only in innovation but also in embracing and showcasing our rich heritage. The Ladies’ Wellness Hub is an extension of that—balancing modern wellness practices with the values and traditions that define us.
What does this new opening mean to you personally, as a leading Emirati woman in the hospitality and wellness industry?
SAK: This project is incredibly close to my heart. As an Emirati woman, I’m passionate about creating spaces that reflect our values while pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the hospitality and wellness industries. The Ladies’ Wellness Hub is a testament to that vision—a space that’s luxurious, culturally resonant, and deeply personal. It’s an honour to lead a project that supports women in such an essential way, and I hope it serves as a source of inspiration for others to continue advocating for innovation in wellness.
