The Palestinian-Chilean singer has blown into a sensation overnight, and has recently took to Instagram to share her trip to Jordan. Is it too unrealistic to hope she makes a regional tour next?

Elyanna, born Elian Marjieh, discovered her talent for singing at the early age of seven by her older brother Feras. She was singing an Adele song when her family noticed that she had a talent for it, and if you can pull of an Adele song we think you can pretty much pull off any song if you ask us. The Palestinian musical muse’s sultry voice has been likened to that of Rihanna and Shakira, and we have to say we agree.

At the age of 15, Elyanna moved to California from Palestine, to pursue her lifelong dream of singing. It was a few years later that she was discovered by Wassim ‘Sal’ Sleiby, otherwise known as The Weeknd‘s manager. Since then, Elyanna has released her debut EP, became besties with Lebanese-Canadian R&B singer Massari and won the hearts of every Middle Eastern.

The singer is known for covering some of our favourite hit Arab songs, as well as merging Arabic and English in her lyrics. She’s also released a song with Massari named Ana Lahale, and we can’t stop listening.

Elyanna recently posted photos in Jordan, and it seems like she performed with Jordanian teen artist, Issam Al Najjar at the Odeon Theatre in Amman. Najjar has proved to being a viral sensation as his song Hadal Ahbek has become one of the most streamed songs on Spotify. The two singers performed together over the weekend and we’re hoping there’s more to come with this dynamic duo.

The Arab world’s sweetheart also took to Instagram to share a photo of her indulging in Knafeh – a Palestinian dessert, and it’s clear she misses the taste of her hometown.
