Beyoncé isn’t normally one for a red carpet and prefers to make a dramatic appearance elsewhere. Remember the 2020 Golden Globes? The “BREAK MY SOUL” artist made an exception at the weekend when she stepped out arm-in-arm with Jay-Z for the WACO Theatre Wearable Art Gala.
The event was for a special cause, co-founded by the singer’s mother Tina Knowles-Lawson to raise funds for the theatre’s youth mentorship program. This year saw the theme ‘Harlem Nights’, celebrating fashion between 1920 and 1950.
Beyoncé channelled old Hollywood glamour for her look with the help of a custom gown by Gucci. The dress featured a strapless sequin neckline with diamantés at the bust, a column silhouette in a silky fabric and a voluminous train. The ensemble was finished with vibrant pink opera gloves, Lorraine Schwartz earrings and a Dolce & Gabbana clutch.
The longtime couple were accompanied by their eldest daughter Blue Ivy, while the guest list also included Lupita Nyong’o,Kelly Rowland, Angela Basset, Issa Rae, and young singing duo Chloe x Halle.
The “CUFF IT” star also seemingly confirmed a 2023 Renaissance world tour when she auctioned off a concert ticket package worth $20,000 USD. It boasted two first-class international United Airline Polaris tickets to select cities, three-night hotel accommodation at a Marriott Property, two tickets to the concert and the most priceless inclusion; a guided tour backstage with the Queen Bey.
