We missed Bella Hadid at last year’s Met Gala – she was reported to have skipped the infamous red carpet due to being unvaccinated, a rumour the model quickly shut down in the days after the event – but the star has more than made up for her notable absence in October with a show-stopping leather and lace look from Burberry.

While the dress code for this year’s event was ‘gilded glamour’, Hadid instead opted for all-black attire by Riccardo Tisci, with a leather corset and sheer, shimmering lace skirt that trailed behind her as she navigated the Met Gala stairs.
Black gloves and tights in intricate lace swathed the model’s long limbs, with a train wrapping around Hadid’s biceps and falling to the floor. She paired the gothic-glam look with black strappy heels and an eye-catching stack of chunky pearls around her left ankle.
Hadid’s hair featured several variations on a braid, with the majority of her dark locks plaited and piled high into a half-updo, with the curled lengths left loose to cascade down the supermodel’s spine.
Curtain bangs framed Hadid’s face, with a few teeny-tiny baby braids twisted through the very front and secured beneath her sweeping fringe. Her makeup was simple with glowing skin, peachy-pink cheeks, neutral eyeshadow, muted glossy lips and her trademark razor-thin brows.
Hadid’s leather and lace look was also perfectly synchronised with her sister Gigi, who also donned a structured corset style in a striking garnet hue.
Now may we never see a Met Gala minus a Hadid again.
