It’s been confirmed – Barbie is arriving in the GCC this week.
After the global premiere of Barbie on July 21, 2023, those of us in the Middle East were left waiting and wondering when (and perhaps if) it would premiere here.
It was announced at the beginning of July that the release of the highly anticipated film, starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, would be delayed until August 31, 2023. However, questions began to arise if the film faces a ban in the Middle East.

However, last Friday on Friday, the UAE Media Council confirmed that Barbie will air in cinemas across the UAE.
Barbie Release Date Brought Forward
Well, now to start the week off on a high note, we have more good news for Barbie fans in the GCC.

Warner Brothers Middle East announced that Barbie would be airing in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, as well as the UAE. But, that’s not the only good news. The release date has been brought forward to this week. The Barbie movie will premiere on Thursday, August 10, 2023, in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
“‘The blockbuster of the summer’ is coming to cinemas in KSA and Bahrain THIS WEEK,” they announced on the Warner Brothers ME Instagram page. “Don’t miss #BarbieTheMovie only in cinemas from August 10!”
