Luxury fashion house Balmain is switching it up this season with a new short-form series made in partnership with the British network Channel 4.

The show, titled Fracture, features A-list celebrities, including singer-songwriter Jesse Jo Stark, actor Charles Melton, Tommy Dorfman, and Ajani Russell. The short series is broken down into five 8-minute episodes, where the cast will be decked out in the brands latest Fall 2021 collection. This is the first time the fashion house is collaborating with a broadcaster and venturing off into the film industry in this way.

The series centres around a motel and a mysterious Mya, played by Jesse Jo Stark, a struggling singer-songwriter who has escaped the privileged life in New York for solidarity at Le Rêve motel. The additional cast member, Tommy Dorfman, plays Mya’s sibling, Charles Melton stars as a drifter and poet, and Ajani Russel plays Mya’s friend.

In a recent post, Balmain’s creative director Olivier Rousteing reveals, “I’m so proud to announce that we have been working on creating a new BALMAIN SERIES with @channel4 called FRACTURE. New exciting project, and so glad to go beyond fashion and starting to work in a new world for me. I can’t wait for you to see our new SERIES ❤️‍🔥.”

Sources have reported that Le Rêve motel is allegedly a real place, and according to its website states “Where dreams are made and broken.” – hmm interesting. When looking into it, it actually seems like a real motel located on the outskirts of Los Angeles, in which it offers a “safe haven” for those feeling discarded or lost – kinda spooky.

Starting Thursday, September 2nd, the series will officially begin. In the meantime, feel free to check out the official trailer and get a sneak-peak of the casts refreshing looks from the fashion house’s latest collection.
