Luxury fashion houses all over the world constantly compete with one another to set trends and remain leaders in the market. Loewe has just scored the top spot on Lyst Index’s hottest brands list. Loewe

Under the influence of creative director Jonathan Anderson, Loewe has successfully secured its place as the hottest brand of the year, according to Lyst. In particular, you’ll be no stranger to the Loewe Anagram tank top which has been all over social media and has now risen to be one of the most sought-after products this summer. Additionally, the Spanish fashion house’s annual summer Paula’s Ibiza collection, which first launched in 2017, continues to be a major success for Loewe. Having also designed a series of custom looks for Beyoncé on her Renaissance world tour further cemented Loewe at the forefront of the fashion world for 2023.

PRADA

Taking the second spot on the list is Italian fashion house Prada. With award-winning actress Scarlett Johansson taking centre stage in its recent Prada Galleria campaign which reimagined the luxury label’s icon handbag in new patterns and colours. Earlier this year, Prada also hosted an immersive experience – Prada Frames 2023 – at Milan Design Week, which was a huge success that explored the complex relationship between nature and design.

VERSACE

Ranking third, Versace was most noted this quarter for the launch of its Versace La Vacanza collection, which was co-designed by pop icon Dua Lipa and creative director Donatella Versace. The collection is a shared vision between the duo on what defines modern elegance for “La Vacanza,” Italian for “vacation.” According to Lyst, Versace “achieved record revenue with double-digit growth in fiscal 2023”

Miu Miu

Prada’s little sister, Miu Miu, came in fourth on the list. Miuccia Prada unsurprisingly has both Prada and Miu Miu in the top five hottest brands once again. Miu Miu was recognised this quarter for its notable Arcadie bag campaign with Gigi Hadid. The luxury house has seen tremendous growth in sales. According to Lyst, Miu Miu has experienced “double-digit growth across all product categories”. In a joint effort with Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney, Miu Miu has also co-hosted a lunch during the Cannes Film Festival.

Bottega Veneta

Bottega Veneta continues to go from strength to strength under the creative leadership of Matthieu Blazy, so it’s no surprise the luxury house continues to top the fashion charts. While the house is known for its impeccable craftsmanship, Bottega Veneta recently announced its first-ever ambassador as BTS leader RM, which marks a proud moment for K-pop fans all over the world and continues to put more eyes on the designer brand. This quarter, creative director Matthieu also published a fanzine dedicated to Kate Moss. He shared, “Kate Moss was my first Google search… Whenever I hear a modem, I think of Kate, because I mainly looked for her pictures as a teenager. It’s a sound I will forever relate to her.”

Valentino

With a reported 10 per cent rise in annual sales, Valentino enters the top 10 list at spot number six. In April, the Italian fashion house named actress Florence Pugh the face of Valentino DI.VA. Just a few months later the Maison made a bold return to Milan Men’s Fashion Week with a show that sought to redefine the meaning of masculinity under the leadership of creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli with a floral lineup that combines blazers with shorts.

Saint Laurent

It’s been an eventful year for Saint Laurent, from debuting their first film at the Cannes Film Festival to releasing their first-ever line of fine jewellery, the Saint Laurent Haute Joaillerie collection. While Saint Laurent has always sold accessories, this is their first foray in to the world of fine jewellery.

Moncler

Moncler looked to make the season theirs with their first-ever global summer campaign. The Italian luxury house celebrated a timeless yet dramatic, year-round collection of relaxed tees, lightweight jackets, pullovers, tactile knitwear and even swimwear. The fashion house has also dropped the Moncler x FRGMT Genius Collection, which featured South Korean singer Hwang Minh-Yun.

GUCCI

Despite the surprise exit of Gucci’s former creative director Alessandro Michele, Gucci remains to be one of the world’s most popular luxury houses. This year, the Maison has highlighted its signature handbags in a new campaign, Gucci Bamboo 1947, starring Chinese model Liu Wen. The Italian fashion house has also recently dropped its Vault Summer collection by its new creative director Sabato De Sarno. The collection is in collaboration with eight labels, some of which include Agua by Agua Bendita, Connor McKnight, Husbands and Judith Leiber Couture.

DIOR

Dior dressed both Jennifer Lawrence and Natalie Portman at the Cannes Film Festival. This year is an exciting year for the brand as they staged a cruise show in Mexico, a tribute to Frida Kahlo. Creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri said backstage at the show, “I first saw her work at an exhibition in Rome when I was a teenager, the first show I’d ever seen by a woman artist, and it made a lifelong impression… Her work is so inspiring for women. What she did for her time was unbelievable.”
