As Hollywood opens up (almost) restriction free for the first time since 2019, the forthcoming awards season promises to be rid of glitchy Zoom ceremonies for good. Following the Golden Globes nominations at nearly the same time this morning, the Critics Choice Awards nominees were also announced today.

Since late 2020, the film and television industry has played catch up on the release of so many delayed productions. Black-and-white period film Belfast and on-screen musical West Side Story lead the nominations with 11 each. Dune starring Zendaya and Timothée Chalamet nabbed 10 as did The Power of the Dog.

The result of so many film premieres has also seen stiff competition with the Best Actress category which is stacked between Lady Gaga for House of Gucci, Nicole Kidman in Being the Ricardos, Kristen Stewart for Spencer, Jessica Chastain in The Eyes of Tammy Faye, Olivia Colman in The Lost Daughter and Alana Haim for Licorice Pizza. Elsewhere, the Best Song category will see Billie Eiliish, Ariana Grande and Beyoncé vying for the statuette.

The 2022 Critics Choice Awards will presented on Sunday January 9 for American viewers and Monday January 10 for Australians from the Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles. See all the nominees below.
