We’re always seeking to look and feel our best selves – and it’s always a bonus when there’s little to no downtime.

With the advancement of the aesthetics industry and technology, there are now an array of quick-fix beauty treatments – or tweakments as we like to say – which will revitalise and rejuvenate you in no time.

Of course, here at GRAZIA the team only brings you the best of the best, so we consulted two experts who have been part of the field in Dubai – Dr. Anna Protasova, who is an Aesthetic General Practitioner at the Evolution Aesthetic Clinic, and Dr. Ali Halawi, a Specialist Dermatologist at Enhance by Mediclinic – each revealing their top picks for the ultimate refresh with minimal downtime.

Whether you’re squeezing in a self-care session during your lunch break or seeking a subtle enhancement without disrupting your busy schedule, these treatments promise to deliver results without fuss

Hydrafacial

If you inquire about getting a facial, this is bound to be one of the first treatments that will be suggested to you. Dr Anna said that the skincare treatment offers a deep cleanse and a hydration boost.

As for how long it takes and the downtime regarding the facial, she said, “It can be done in an hour to 40 minutes and there are no side effects, but we sometimes just suggest clients avoid washing their face for two hours of the treatment as we use a lot of serums and we want our clients to reap all the benefits of the procedure.”

Dermadrop

Ideal for parched skin or post-sun exposure, Dermadrop uses non-injectable mesotherapy to infuse serums tailored to individual skincare needs. Dr. Anna highlights its versatility, with clients having the option to choose from various skincare concoctions that target different issues. For example, if you’re looking for an even complexion, you could go for an anti-pigmentation serum.

Botox

A lunchtime favourite, Botox injections are renowned for their efficiency in reducing wrinkles and fine lines. One of the most popular injectable treatments people go for in the UAE, and even globally, most Botox procedures take a mere 15 minutes to complete. “Redness should disappear in about 20 minutes. We just recommend avoiding exposure to heat. So don’t go for a sauna afterwards,” Dr Anna said.

Profhilo

If you are looking for a combination of deep hydration and a subtle lift to your face, Profhilo is a quick treatment you can opt for.

The procedure is known to add a soft tightening effect to the client’s face and usually requires around 10 minutes to complete. “We inject the patient with hyaluronic acid in 10 different points of the face,” Dr Anna said.

Tesla Former

This is a non-invasive treatment using magnetic resonance energy to stimulate muscle growth – think hours-long gym sessions compacted into a 30-minute treatment.

“We use a special machine that stimulates your muscles. For example, it’s used to lift and tighten areas such as the abdomen or buttocks,” she said.

After the procedure, people can carry on with their daily lives without any irritation to the treated area. “You can even go to the gym,” the doctor said.

Broadband Light Therapy (BBL) and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)

favourite of Dr Ali’s, these procedures use a special type of light that helps reduce certain types of pigmentation, sun damage, and redness from rosacea, as well as improve overall skin tone and texture. The treatment takes around 30 to 60 minutes depending on the indications and area. Clients usually only have mild redness after it.

Microneedling with radiofrequency

A powerhouse combination for skin tightening and scar improvement, microneedling with radiofrequency, such as Morpheus8, is a versatile option for facial and body treatments.

Sessions last approximately 90 minutes, with mild redness and minimal swelling as common post-treatment effects.

Ultrasound (Ultra Former)

Using heat energy, ultrasound treatments, such as Ultra Former, tighten the skin, offering long-lasting results with minimal discomfort. “Recommended once per year, this is an hour-long procedure,” Dr Ali said.

Poly L-lactic Acid (Sculptra)

As an injectable collagen stimulator, Sculptra offers comprehensive skin tightening and enhancement with minimal volume, for the most natural results. Dr. Ali advises a series of three sessions spaced 45 days apart, delivering results lasting two to three years.

Hyaluronic Acid Fillers

Arguably one of the most used injectable treatments right now, made popular by celebrities such as Kylie Jenner or Kaley Cuoco, who’ve famously admitted to using these fillers, this treatment is one of the quickest ones you can get.

“They’re used for numerous indications on the face such as volume loss, asymmetry, and enhancement,” Dr Ali said. Speaking about after-effects, Dr Ali said, “A client may get bruising or minimal swelling at the injection points.”
