Saudi royals have long been pillars of cultural preservation and advocates for the rich history of the Arab world.
Cementing her place amongst them for the cultural arts is HRH Princess Reem bint al-Waleed bin Talal Al Saud.
The princess, who is widely recognised for her passion and respect for culture, recently made a public appearance at the Islamic Arts Biennale in Jeddah, which this year encompassed the theme of ‘And All That Is In Between’. The annual showcase showcases the works of the Islamic art space to the world. This year, over 30 international institutions participated, which also featured 29 newly commissioned pieces from a range of Saudi, Arab and international artists.
The Saudi royal took to Instagram to share snippets of her visit to the annual event, during which she was seen admiring the bountiful works made by artisans.
Lauding the event’s wonders, she said, “During my visit to the Islamic Arts Biennale in Jeddah, I experienced a rich cultural journey where traditional Islamic heritage meets contemporary artistic expression.
“This global art event goes beyond exhibition; it opens windows for dialogue and reflects Saudi Arabia’s vision in empowering culture and strengthening the global presence of Islamic arts—bridging the past with the future.”
Now in it’s second edition, the Islamic Arts Biennale 2025 quickly garnered regional and global recognition as the first and only biennale dedicated solely to the Islamic arts.
