Sima Taparia AKA Aunty Sima definitely had her work cut out for her in the latest season of Indian Matchmaking Season 3 couples. The Indian dating show documents the Mumbai-based matrimonial consultant’s attempt to find the perfect partner for single South Asian millennials from London to New Delhi, and Miami to New York. While the show has been criticised for its depiction of Indian society and the institution of arranged marriages, it also gained a massive following over the years. Unlike other dating shows like Love Is Blind, what makes Indian Matchmaking stand out isn’t the scandalous drama but the endless and sometimes ludicrous list of partner preferences from each single. Priya Ashra and Vimal Kansara
We were reintroduced to Priya from season two to see her matched to two potential partners. Although the season’s new single Bobby Seagull fit the bill of a good communicator, a liberal thinker, tall, tan, and not bald, the pair’s chemistry quickly fizzles out. The clinical pharmacist then met Vimal Kansara but so far the only green light we had about their relationship status is that they follow each other on Instagram. The couple has recently announced they are officially together with fellow castmates and fans of the show congratulating them. “Sima Auntie understood the assignment,” they jointly wrote on their post.
Vikash Mishra
This 39-year-old ER doctor was particular about the qualities his future partner should have. She is someone without a six-pack, who wants to have kids, and speaks fluent Hindi but without a heavy accent much to Sima Aunty’s confusion. Vikash met Janki Kaneria after two mismatches but it is still too early to say if they hit it off. For now, like the previous couple, Vikash and Janki follow each other social media but that’s all we got.
Pavneet Sachdeva and Tushar Tyagi
After a lacklustre date with season one’s Rushali Rai, film director Tushar goes out with Pavneet. The PR and marketing consultant from New Delhi comes towards the end of the season but in that short time, the couple had an immediate connection. However, he falters when it comes to arranging a second date and uses the excuse that he lost her phone number. Nevertheless, they manage to have a second date and maintain a somewhat friendly relationship. All we know of their relationship is Tushar’s display of affection by leaving comments and heart-eye emojis under Pavneet’s Instagram posts. Are they together or is he still courting her? Only time will tell.
Bobby Seagull
The math teacher is quite well-known in the UK for his published books and tv appearances. He introduces himself as an incredibly energetic and enthusiastic individual but confesses that he often finds himself friend-zoned. Bobby is still searching for his significant person after his appearance in Indian Matchmaking Season 3 since his match with Priya Ashra set up by Sima Aunty ended up nowhere
