The UK is slowly emerging from an extensive lockdown with a roadmap announced this week, but for now, date night is still to be spent very much inside the home. South African model, Tamara Francesconi, organised the ultimate evening in for her boyfriend Ed Westwick overnight and transformed her living room into a movie theatre.

With the assistance of event planner, Bespoke Events by Inara, the 24-year-old channelled 1942 romantic drama, Casablanca. The area was set up with a huge projector screen and a Casablanca movie poster reimagined with Westwick and Francesconi faces. In addition to multitude of sweets – popcorn, donuts, chocolates and candy – Francesconi had set up a gin bar for two. “In all of the gin bars, in all of the town, in all of the world, she walks into mine” the gin bar’s noticeboard read.

Balloons and fairy lights finished the space.

“What an angel,” Westwick captioned an Instagram Story with footage of the movie playing behind the coffee table of treats.

The model and Gossip Girl alum are believed to have been dating since October 2019 as first reported by UK publication, The SunWhile neither are celebrating a birthday nor an anniversary, is this just an extravagant date night in?

In a rare Instagram Q+A over the lockdown period, Francesconi revealed how the pair initially met – and it was very millennial of Westwick.

“He direct messaged me out of the blue saying Hi and I nearly fell off my chair. We then chatted for a while and he asked me on a date, which I assumed would be a dinner but instead he took me to a butterfly sanctuary in Mayfair. We thereafter spent the whole day exploring London together, and the rest is history,” she said.

Plenty of local influencers have roped in the services of the same events company to emulate similar move nights. Model Zara McDermott – who boasts 1.5 millions followers on Instagram – held an outdoors movie picnic in December. Maura Higgins also held a Harry Potter-themed night.

Definitely stealing that gin bar quote.
