Fresh from her wedding in the South Of France to British record executive Elliot Grainge, the face of the quiet luxury movement Sofia Richie has, rather subtly, announced she is starting a clothing line.
In a new video, the 24-year-old American personality, model and daughter of rockstar Lionel Richie, is seen at her Brentwood California home meeting with her designer Cassandra Hobbins and agent Adee Drexler.
“Today we are doing my favourite thing to do every day which is to meet with my team to work on this project that we’ve been working on for months,” Richie begins. “It’s top secret-ish. We are creating this beautiful clothing line that brings out how I feel the most comfortable dressing.”
As swatches of fabrics are passed between the trio, Richie casually drops that the line is 80 pieces. We suspect it will follow her newfound pared back aesthetic and love of rich cashmeres.
Of her evolving style (remember her Esber era?), Richie says she isn’t guided by anyone when getting dressed in the mornings.
“It’s been interesting being watched as a young kid,” she says. “People have seen my evolution of just different stages I was in in life…I’m really proud of where I am now because I’m expressing myself through my clothing,” she shared. “I’m not influenced by anyone. I just really feel me.”
Richie donned not one, not two, but three elegant and timeless custom Chanel gowns for her wedding day. And while she may not be influenced by anyone, we’re definitely looking to emulate her dancing without shoes on stage at her reception while brother-in-law Joel Madden and his band Good Charlotte busted out “Lifestyles Of The Rich And The Famous.”
