It feels like just yesterday we were fawning over Sofia Richie Grainge’s wedding and subsequent honeymoon outfits, but congrats are in order once again for the newlywed who just announced that she’s expecting their first child.
In a way befitting the woman who introduced ‘quiet luxury’ to the masses, the 25-year-old revealed the joyous news via a Vogue magazine shoot. In black-and-white photos shot by Yulia Gorbachenko, Richie Grainge can be seen showing off her burgeoning baby bump with her husband, Elliot Grainge, 30.
Talking about her experience of finding out about the news and hitting milestones, the model and designer revealed she’s having a baby girl who will be a Gemini—meaning we can expect a birth date from mid-May to mid-June.
If you’re wondering about how the couple managed to keep such big news under wraps, Richie Grainge explained that she was adamant about taking her time.
“Pregnancy is really scary, and you want to protect that space,” she explained to the outlet. “I didn’t realise there are so many milestones you have to hit and so many tests you have to take. For me, it was really important to protect our mental health and our space as a couple.”
She also shared how it’s changed her perspective on her body.
“I’ve learned more in the past six months than I have in my entire life, and also just like what the female body is capable of,” she said. “Every week brings new things, whether it’s hormonal shifts or expansion—there’s just so much our bodies go through
Having started off as friends, the couple tied the knot in April 2023 during a lavish ceremony in the South of France that was quickly followed by a Maldives honeymoon.
As she revealed in the interview, the newlyweds had been “casually” trying since their wedding.
Richie-Grainge wrote about their excitement in a photo when sharing the news on Instagram.
