Selena Gomez has an impressive history of dating some of Hollywood’s most eligible bachelors. Since leaving behind her Jelena days, the 31-year-old has dabbled with a diverse batch of suitors. But though she herself is a successful multi-hyphenate, it’s clear her heart lies with fellow musicians. From Zedd, Charlie Puth, The Weeknd and, most recently, Zayn Malik, the Rare Beauty founder seems to hold a penchant for the musically gifted (fair enough). And now, Gomez may have just bagged herself another highly sought-after muso.
Dining at Barney’s Beanery in West Hollywood, the Only Murders in the Building star was joined by DJ and record producer Fred Again. The British performer, whose real name is Fred John Philip Gibson, has worked behind the scenes, collaborating with top musicians for years. But after a critically-acclaimed set played at the Boiler Room in London in July of 2022, his sold-out shows have become infamously hard to get a ticket to.
In photos obtained by Entertainment Tonight, Gomez can be seen wearing a printed fleece sweater, with her hair in a half up-do. Fred, 30, opted for a low-key look in a white t-shirt.
Bringing us back to Earth, a source who watched the two told Entertainment Tonight that the hang seemed more platonic in nature.
Gomez also shared a playful selfie with Fred on her Instagram Story, where she’s sticking her tongue out and smiling with the artist. As someone who tends to keep pretty tight-lipped on her dating life, the selfie may actually be evidence that the two are indeed not dating.
That’s not to say that it couldn’t happen… After all, she did once refer to Justin Bieber as being like a “brother” to her before they embarked on a years-long love affair. We’ll just watch this space. At worst, we’re in for a killer music collaboration.
