Selena Gomez has seemingly joked about missing the “red flags” in her relationship with Justin Bieber. The actress and pop star dated Justin on and off for seven years, and the pair’s romance was widely known to have been full of ups and downs.
Now, in a new TikTok video, Selena has mimicked an ongoing meme created by Owen Unrah, joking about being able to read astrological charts but not warning signs in relationships.
“So, you’re telling me that you can read his astrological birth chart, but you can’t read the red flags? Sis,” she mouthed along to, while sipping from a can of Coke. With her hair pulled back in a pony and wearing a dark red sweater, Selena threw some major sass with her performance.
The video has racked up over three million likes while comments ranged from “bestie, his name begins with J” and “SIS you are the queen of ignoring red flags”. Selena also dated The Weeknd for a brief period before he ended their romance to return to his ex-girlfriend Bella Hadid.
Selena and Justin dated from 2011 to 2018, and their romance was the subject of numerous tabloid headlines at the time as they went back and forth. During one split Justin dated Hailey Bieber, and three months after he and Selena ended things for good, he rekindled his romance with the model; the pair were married three months later in September.
Selena kept quiet during that period but returned with a major heart-on-your-sleeve rack in January 2020 that clearly touched upon the ways her heart was broken.
“I saw the signs and I ignored it, Rose colored glasses all distorted,” she sang, before later getting totally savage as she shared: “in two months you replaced us, like it was easy, made me think I deserved it in the thick of healing,” a direct hit at Justin’s very fast relationship with Hailey.
