So when reports surfaced of the multihyphenate seen kissing and cosying up to Zayn Malik, naturally, we waited with bated breath for a public reveal. But after months of speculation around her ties to the former One Direction star, Gomez may have subtly revealed where she stands with him—and a few other famous profiles.
As fans on PopFaction noticed, Gomez has quietly unfollowed Malik on Instagram, while she remains on his following list. The outlet also pointed out that the Only Murders In The Building actress has also unfollowed Malik’s ex-girlfriend Gigi Hadid, her sister Bella Hadid, Dua Lipa, and Zendaya.
While it’s unclear what prompted Gomez to declutter her feed, it seems like a clear sign that things may have fizzled entirely with Malik, as neither party ever publicly commented on the dating rumours between them.
A source did, however, tell Us Weekly that Malik’s ex-girlfriend and mother of his daughter Khai, Gigi Hadid, was unbothered by the two dating. “Gigi has no problem whatsoever with Zayn dating,” said the source. “As long as he is happy and stable and continues to be a good co-parent to [their daughter] Khai, she’s fine with whoever he goes out with.”
Gomez has spent the last few months in Paris promoting her brand, Rare Beauty. She made her single status clear in a TikTok she posted in early June, where she can be seen hollering at soccer players.
“I’m single!” she shouts in the clip. “I’m just a little high maintenance, but I’ll love you soooo much,” she joked from the sidelines of a game.
