After revealing last month that her beauty line, Rare Beauty, was officially going global, Selena Gomez has finally given us all a date as to when we can expect the brand to hit our shores. The star announced in a post on Instagram that her cosmetics line – which initially hit shelves in the US last September – will be stocked at Sephora Australia from August 5 this year.
The budding beauty mogul expressed her excitement at Rare Beauty’s expansion into Australia in a statement. “I’m so excited to release beauty products that not only feel great, but also celebrate what makes each of us rare,” she said.
“These products aren’t about being someone else, it’s about being who you are, whether that’s rocking a full face of bold makeup or barely any makeup at all. Makeup is something to enjoy, it’s not something you need. I want every person to feel beautiful exactly as they are.”
The Rare Beauty range is already pleasingly extensive, having launched with more than 133 products including foundation, blush, lipstick, eyeshadow and eyeliner, to name just a few. Although it’s early days for the brand, the products have proven popular amongst the saturated beauty market, with many praising the colour pay-off and skin-like finish of the formulations.
“We are all unique and that’s what makes each and every one of us beautiful. Rare is such a special word to me, it’s all about eliminating the need for perfection,” Gomez said in an Instagram video, when talking about her inspiration behind the brand.
“It’s about being comfortable with who you are, embracing who you are, loving who you are and accepting it. I want all of us to stop comparing and to start embracing our own uniqueness.”
Carts and credit cards at the ready – we can’t wait for this one!
