Congratulations are in order. On Tuesday, Game of Thrones stars Rose Leslie and Kit Harington were photographed with their newborn baby, confirming rumours that the actress had a private delivery. The couple wore denim and combat boots for a brisk shopping trip. Harington’s rep confirmed to Page Six that the couple have welcomed a baby boy and are “very, very happy!”
Leslie confirmed she was expecting back in September 2020 during an interview and shoot for UK-based publication Make Magazine. She didn’t go into detail about the pregnancy and instead spoke on her time during quarantine.
“I feel really fortunate to be able to say that I am working; given the current situation when so many people in our industry can’t work,” she said. “At the weekends, when we have downtime, I head to [Scotland’s] Loch Lomond and walk around the water. I feel a huge sense of peace when in Scotland. I’ve lived in London for 13 years now and I love it, but I’m more of a country bumpkin than a town mouse.”
Speaking to The Post in October, 2020, Leslie said, “I am thrilled to be expecting, and I can’t wait to meet the new member of our family!”.
At the time of publishing further details on the baby boy including his name is unknown.
The actress performed alongside Harington as ‘Ygritte’ in the popular HBO series while the new father fronted ‘Jon Snow’. It was on the set of Game of Thrones where they met. They made their red carpet couple debut in 2016, at the Olivier Awards in London. Leslie and Harington confirmed their engagement in a newspaper announcement in 2017 and swiftly tied the knot in 2018 at Leslie’s ancestral castle in Scotland.
Fellow GoT star Sophie Turner also welcomed her first child – a baby girl names Willa – in July, 2020 with husband Joe Jonas.
