With the arrival of Ridley Scott’s House of Gucci, we’re equal parts excited for the film and for every one of Lady Gaga‘s promotional looks. In a sequel to that purple Gucci gown, the actress and singer appeared at a film screening at London’s Cineworld movie theatre on Wednesday in a slinky chocolate brown dress by New York-based label Et Ochs.

The look was pulled direct from the Spring/Summer 2022 runway and features a thigh-high split, midriff cutouts and a one shoulder strap. It was paired with a gold bangle and earrings from Alighieri. True to Gaga’s signature, the 35-year-old finished the ensemble off with sky high platform heels by D’ACCORI (though they’re nothing compared to these shoes she wore in Manhattan earlier this year). Fun fact: it was one of the first brands she wore in 2011.

The namesake label was founded in 2008 by Michelle Ochs and has been worn by Gabrielle Union and Kerry Washington in the past. Though in recent months we can probably thank the likes of Bella Hadid and Dua Lipa for the rise of subversive, sexy and slinky styles.

Hadid was the first to usher in near-naked designs when she appeared on the 2020 MTV VMAs red carpet. Her sheer bodysuit was courtesy of up-and-coming cult label, Nensi Dojaka. Emily Ratajkowski followed suit earlier this year in a mini-dress iteration from the same London-based label.  Then of course, Kate Hudson put a spin on sexy with an intricate black gown by Mônot.

This season, less is more.

On the same evening, Gaga switched her teeny tiny dress to something a little more, er, warm. She was later photographed wearing a brown monogram adorned Gucci cape and dress, gold pouch and signature platform heeled boots.

The release of House of Gucci isn’t without its real-life drama. Last week Gaga was forced to defend her decision to not approach the family when preparing for her role as Patrizia Reggiani-Gucci. More on that here.
