We can almost hear Kendall Jenner echoing Cher Horowitz’s iconic catchphrase, “It’s an Alaïa, it’s like a totally important designer” when her Spring/Summer 2023 Alaïa dress showed up on her doorstep.

Continuing her sartorial love affair with Pieter Mulier’s experimental feminine designs for the luxury label, the supermodel took to Instagram to prove precisely why the maison is the epitome of sensuality and modernity and maybe even convincing us to whip out the plastic and treat ourselves to a little Alaïa number ourselves.

Posing in her multi-million dollar Los Angeles abode, the 818 tequila founder sported a white avant-garde anatomical look from the brand’s lauded Parisian runway show, hosted at their soon-to-be-opened Faubourg Saint-Honoré boutique.

Her enviable fitted maxi featured ruched skeleton-like details along the lateral sides of the sheer dress and a skin-tight finish, obviously.

Unless you’re a member of the celebrity style set, these luxe garments are usually reserved for special occasions, but Jenner is making a case for embracing refinement in the everyday.

Given Kendall wasn’t papped sauntering around the streets of Beverly Hills wearing her nearly naked Alaïa dress, we can only imagine she donned the look for lounging around the house.

Perhaps even for running errands, like picking up a ‘Hailey Bieber smoothie’ from Erewhon? Oh, the lifestyle of the rich and the famous.

Sure, you may be thinking that this is a bit of a reach, but considering the last time the 27-year-old opted for an Alaïa creation was to flounce around in her bedroom with a glass of wine, we wouldn’t be surprised if this was Jenner’s everyday uniform. Because Alaïa is a delight best served up daily.

Jenner hasn’t dipped into the Alaïa archives yet—unlike her younger sister Kylie who wore a vintage 1987 shearling and leather coat in Aspen like we would wear a North Face puffer for après ski—but with the way Jenner’s collecting statement-making vintage dresses like they’re going out of fashion, we know it’s only a matter of time until she steps out in an original Azzedine number.
