Paris Haute Couture Week has officially begun, and we are *beyond* here for Maison Alaia’s Spring 2022 Ready-to-Wear collection.

The luxury fashion house kick-started Couture week with its first collection under Pieter Mulier’s new creative direction. Still forming a new chapter for the fashion house, the ready-to-wear collection embraced Maison’s signature archetypes, impeccable tailoring, form-fitting textures, and iconic studded leather sandals. There were corset belts, sleek hoods, unique cutouts and elegant dresses. The designs were filled with radiating respect and confidence in the honour of Azzedine Alaia – the brand’s founder who passed away in 2017 at the age of 77.

Alaia has always been known for mastering women’s tailoring to fit and sculpt the everyday women’s body, making clothing feel like second skin. When it came to the brand’s fashion calendar, Azzedine Alaïa was famously fond of showing his collections outside of the official fashion week calendar, but his successor Pieter Mulier has taken a more traditional path for his debut collection.

Ahead, find Grazia’s favourite looks from Maison Alaia’s Spring 2022 Ready-to-Wear collection.
