Indeed, just days after the Duchess of Sussex stepped out in Montecito wearing this languid dress, Holmes’ put her ‘downtown darling’ twist on this classic silhouette while out and about in New York.

Just a few weeks ago, Markle cut an elevated figure during a date night with her husband, Prince Harry, to celebrate her 42nd birthday. Taking to ‘IYKYK’ local spot Tre Lune, Markle showcased her prowess for understated yet glamorous wardrobe fundamentals in the horizontal block striped number.
The Duchess applied a Los Angeles-approved spin on the silhouette, completing her look with T-bar sandals from Emme Parsons, a beaded clutch from Cult Gaia and accents of gold jewellery, including a Cartier Tank watch and Love bracelet.
But proving this look isn’t merely for beach babes and lavish soirees fit for nobility, in comes Holmes and her gritty New York street style.
Still leaning into the relaxed fit, Holmes opted for a more fast-paced aesthetic in her ‘destroyed’ Balenciaga Paris high-top sneaker and oversized tote bag.
Unlike Markle who looked to the clean girl makeup style for her beauty look, Holmes kept things casual and slightly unruly with her hair down. Indeed, a very bi-costal display in styling the same dress.
And while the bandeau dress has certainly felt a bit passé since the bandage Hervé Léger reign in the 2000s, leave it to Markle and Holmes to offer up a lifeline for this piece.
