It’s safe to say the ideal model to follow when planning your travel outfit is exactly that: a supermodel. When your career requires you to spend as much time in the air as it does on the runway, a style savant’s on-the-move silhouette should deservingly obtain our adherence.
Take for instance Kaia Gerber, a model-turned-actress who has graced the international fashion circuit since she was 16 years old after making her modelling debut at Raf Simons for Calvin Klein’s Fall/Winter 2017 show at New York Fashion. Now, a mainstay at red carpets around the world—including the Met Gala, and more recently, the Côte d’Azur for the Cannes Film Festival—Gerber’s off-duty wardrobe is rife with exemplary airport outfits and voyage-worthy pieces alike.
Though much has already been discussed about her enviable street style, we’re turning our attention to the lust-worthy (and luxury!) pieces she wears to get from Point A to Point B. Not only does this include the homegrown Bec + Bridge trench coat she has on high rotation (and quite literally packs a punch), but as she’s recently proven, elevated basics that take you from plebeian world traveller to the Slim Aaron’s jet set. (A particularly commendable feat given her recent role in Apple TV+’s 1960s limited series, Palm Royale).
For her latest outing, Gerber donned an ensemble suitable for all modes of transport; planes, trains and automobiles. In the 22-year-old’s case? A private SUV and a helicopter, naturally.

Though her destination was not clear, her look certainly was, wearing a cornflower blue cardigan style short sleeve button down from James Street Co, Brandy Melville track pants and Repetto ballet flats.
The star also took a page out of her ex-boyfriend Jacob Elordi’s handbook by balancing toting an iced beverage, iPhone and designer carry-all. Though the recent Bottega Veneta ambassador usually reaches for the Italian maison, Gerber used the outing to flex her own contractual agreements by toting Celine’s large travel bag in Triomphe canvas and calfskin and a black top-handle bucket bag from Paloma Wool. Where Gerber will pop up is anyone’s guess. But as we prepare our suitcases for our upcoming European Summer sojourns, Gerber is contending that the travel outfit is just as imperative as what you’ll wear when you actually make it on vacation.
