Whether we are escaping the mundanity of our restricted lives or the messiness of our social media feeds, a woman’s nighttime routine has become a much-needed tool to disconnect and relax. In this series “How I Wind Down…”, we speak to a lot of different women about how they prepare for a restful evening.

Overnight it was announced that New South Wales would end lockdown from October 11. For many of us, the news has arrived with a sense of both excitement and anxiety. As we (cautiously) fill our calendars for the upcoming months, now more than ever we need a no fuss, chic and easy routine. Enter: Jodi Gordon. The Australian actress and new ambassador for ESMI Skin Minerals has her night time routine (and her preparation for the next day) down pat.

Here GRAZIA taps the brunette beauty on what she shares exactly what she uses, does and wears.

GRAZIA: Can you describe your night time beauty routine?

“My night time skincare routine consists of cleaning my face with ESMI Skin Minerals Uncomplicated Cleanser, followed by their Hyaluronic Hydrating Serum, 24k Gold Nourishing Oil. Once a week I’ll use the Detoxifying Exfoliating Charcoal Serum with the 24k Gold Nourishing Oil and double up on the Bouncy Brightening Silky Booster Mask and Hyaluronic Hydrating Booster Masks twice a week.”

How do you wind down after a busy day?

“If it’s not spending time with my daughter Aleeia, it’s definitely cooking with friends or watching a film or documentary.”

How do you decorate your space to assist in falling asleep?

“[I use] silk face masks, essential oils, candles, crystals and an air purifier. There’s so many ways.”

·What time do you go to sleep?

“Sometimes 8:30pm, sometimes midnight. It depends on if I’m working or staying up watching a film or entertaining friends.”

Do you plan the next day’s look the night before or in the morning? If so, what’s your go-to look for an easy morning the next day?

“Ever since I was a little girl my mum always told me to have my outfit for the next day ready to go. These days I like to have a back up outfit as well in case it’s cold or raining. I love a sporty look, so usually my go to will be black leggings, new balance shoes, with a cool blazer or trench coat and depending on the colour of my coat, I’ll match my top and hat or beanie or handbag around that. There’s so much fun to be had with a sporty relaxed every day look. I normally go for a minimal “done” look with a pulled back low bun, ESMI Skin Minerals Skin Shield Natural Sunscreen SPF 30 and a tiny amount of make up. My go to is Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder. No fuss but still chic and put together.”‘
