Elizabeth Olsen stepped onto the red carpet this evening for the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles. The actress who appeared in the Disney+ series Wandavision is up for “Outstanding Lead Actress In A Limited Or Anthology Series Or Movie” and marked the occasion with a particularly sentimental look.

Wearing The Row, her white sweeping caftan gown was designed by her design-duo sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Styled by Elizabeth Stewart, it was paired with Chopard earrings featuring 68.77-carats of diamonds.

It is not the first time The Row has been spotted on the red carpet. In May, the Haim sisters opted for the label’s crisp tailoring and neutral basics for the 2021 Brit Awards. The looks were reminiscent to those seen on Kendall Jenner in the past as a pared-down approach to red carpet style.

Olsen’s custom gown however, marks a new era for the New York-based brand.

The 32-year-old actress admitted in a past interview that she didn’t want to be associated with her sisters at a young age when she considered a career in acting.

“I guess I understood what nepotism was like inherently as a 10-year-old,” she said at the time. “I don’t know if I knew the word, but there is some sort of association of not earning something that I think bothered me at a very young age. It had to do with my own insecurities, but I was 10. So I don’t know how much I processed, but I did think, ‘I’m going to be Elizabeth Chase [her middle name] when I become an actress.’”

Mary-Kate and Ashley stepped away from the silver screen in a bid for fashion design as young adults. They launched The Row in 2006.

“We had just moved to New York,” Ashley said in a rare interview. “We were 18 years old and I think what we did know was that we wanted to take that time to take a break from what we were previously doing and to explore things that interested us, and explore what life has to offer…” she said. Mary-Kate finished her sentence, saying, “Creatively.”
