The internet’s longest-running joke is questioning, like Carmen Sandiego, where in the world will Dua Lipa appear next? The pop supernova has developed a reputation for her penchant for travel, with the star seemingly treating her life as one endless vacation thanks to her enviable ability to trot the globe with abandon. Frankly, would you not do the same if you were in her Marc Jacobs kiki boots?

With her RIMOWA packed with cult ‘It’ girl brands like Aya Muse, Blumarine and Christopher Esber, Lipa has garnered the honourary title of “Vacanza Queen” as her collection of air miles exceeds that of her contemporaries. For the uninitiated, Lipa travelled to Tokyo, Copenhagen, Los Angeles, New York, Cannes, Paris, Ibiza, Milan, Albania, India, Jamaica and Greece in 2023 alone—those being the travels she’s chosen to share with us through sun-kissed holiday snaps.

Naturally, Lipa’s inability to stay in one place for long has made many question the logistics of her everyday life. What country of residence does she declare on her tax forms? Does she notify her bank of international travel when she’s abroad like the rest of us? Or as one Twitter user so appropriately asked, “Does Dua Lipa have a house like she is always somewhere”.

Now, the 28-year-old has weighed in on the discourse, doubling down on her right to spend her time off how she likes. “Of course, I was going to f****** holiday and chill [during] the year that I was just going in the studio and had some time off,” Lipa told Rolling Stone in a recent interview.

“As long as I’m doing my job, hitting my deadlines, and getting my shit done, then I will find a way to relax, too,” she said. “It’s really work hard and play hard. Why not?” Lipa also noted that her travel itinerary came off the back of an exhaustive world tour for her Future Reputation album, adding “I think people are quick to forget. I was on tour up until the end of December. I felt like I missed out on so much time with my family and friends.”

Yes, Lipa is always somewhere. But if you had the means, the time and a black Amex that would never decline, wouldn’t you do the same? It’s obvious Lipa won’t let the slander jeopardise any upcoming holidays. Honestly, we can’t wait to see where she pops up next. Oh the places she’ll go…
