If Dua Lipa‘s noughties-fuelled wardrobe is anything to go by, it only makes sense that the singer is a Leo. For those not privy to astrology, the star sign essentially translates in to big confident energy. At the weekend Lipa celebrated her 26th birthday in her most bold summer ensemble yet.
Taking to social media Lipa shared a series of images captioned, “I’m a leo – can’t u tell.” The “Future Nostalgia” artist opted for a slouchy polka-dot suit, faux fur bucket hat, black lace bra and sneakers. The tomboyish look was finished with lilac eyeshadow and layered jewellery.
The pop star’s Instagram stories were awash with birthday wishes to the artist. In addition to a sweet mention from recent collaborator Elton John, beau Anwar Hadid also published a heartfelt tribute. “Happy birthday girl of my dreams. Love u forever and always,” the 22-year-old wrote on his account. Lipa reposted the story to her social media and responded, “I love you!!! Thumping heart!!!”
Sister Bella and Gigi Hadid also honoured the singer as well a their mother Yolanda.
“Happy birthday to our sweet angel…. I pray that each day Love, health and happiness will come your way. Thank you for being you and for loving my son the way that you do,” the former model and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star wrote. “You are an incredible addition to our family- I cherish and appreciate you today and everyday of the year!! I love you.”
Lipa’s birthday comes off the back of a dreamy European getaway. From dancing in Ibiza with Bella Hadid, laying poolside in a teeny weeny bikini and trotting through Albania wearing up-and-coming designers, it’s fair to say we’ve been living for the sartorial tour. Especially when we can’t travel ourselves.
